The Challenge
Sylvie, a French woman, has a troubled working relationship with her English colleague, Peter, who wants to take over her position. He takes pleasure in sending her emails (putting her bosses on copy) to show that her skills are deficient. In one such email, Peter asks her for statistics that she can not possibly provide. In fact, only one person, a subordinate of Peter's, has access to these figures. Sylive's first reaction is to send a nasty email to Peter. Fortunately, she turned to Evolution-ABC first.
Our Approach & the Results Achieved
One of Evolution-ABC's coaches sat down with Sylvie and together they wrote an eloquent response to Peter in a calm, polite tone, explaining that she did not have access to the figures. They also included the name of the person who could supply Peter with this information. Lastly, they requested an in-person meeting with Peter in order to clearly define each person's roles and responsibilities. After a few days of silence, Peter finally wrote back to Sylvie, agreeing to meet with her.
